Some Great warm weather and a nice north west swell. Gave plenty of smiles for the ones in the water at the right places and times. Had the option of many different waves that day all from one spot. The sun was so warm roasting your uncovered parts, I happened to peel half my suit off that day. the water was bath water in comparison other times of the year, it sure seams to b warming more and more every year.
Some of the waves have changed shape over the years, some sets that came in this day were just big enough to have some fun on. Clean waves warm water and happy faces all around.

Building Epoxy Surfboards and Paddle boards in Kitsap.

Building and Shaping poly, eps Surfboards/Paddleboards and Glassing, Polishing Epoxy in The Pacific North West.
In-between Searching for waves.

Some days spent searching for waves. The water is plowing the shore with white water, Others have the sight of tranquilly, that push the sweet song and dance of dreams filled with glassy peelers. A good rest by the shore is time well spent absorbing natures beauty.

Good morning sunrises, tide changes with swell coming in..perfect for sucking in some salt spray and laying a rail on its side.  Testing new surfboard shapes., continuing to evolve, sharing the stoke.
Sometimes sitting with a warm drink in hand lifetimes waiting for something anything. A little wind a little slop still making it out.
You have to take the sweet with the sour.
Receiving break time, turing into play time with the kids, jumping off the dock. Summer time spoils with bright sun soft seas, great for swimming, arm strength improvement  for winter months. Teaching the kids the importance of water safety.

Prepare the kids for some winter time days and playing in the surf, you can enjoy some great rides in the winter time exploring the ins and outs.

A day looking for that slide, others had slides of their own. This logging truck had a spill off onto the side of the road, no one injured. caused some traffic back up until the rig could be pulled out and towed off.

The fine finish of a polyurethane board is by far the best foam to hand shape with. The constant foam quality and shaping experience, provide great feed back to the hands. This is a double 24" channel. single or finless. There always a call to put some lines in positions not conventional ran with. A new rider experience will be had by all, friendly riding characteristics kept in mind for some fast sliding.

Long board cornering log, 9' 8" named the mudslide. Some epoxy resin tinting, a brown and yellow hook splash style, solid brown bottom. Single fin.

Epoxy resin polished up 1200 grit. Surfboards just cleaned off with fresh water. Epoxy has some nice outcomes this day and age with a great shine, smooth and clear. Some good hand sanding styles and  the right sanders do accompany you. I personal agree with baby sitting your epoxy boards while they are curing depending on your hardeners curing time etc, Different baby sitting techniques required.
proper housing of your board during glassing, There is a lot to be said for the small things that could be overlooked if your new to the building or not experienced
. If you would like help or information send an email and let see what we can get figured out.

Most work to obtain a great outcome requires repetitively doing the process. Clean smooth lines, nice paint edges smooth glossy finishes, creamy translucent, or solid resin tints with great transitions or  lines all require experience knowledge. Let the surfboards speak for them selfs.

Stand up paddling the puget sound, down wind.

Fay Bainbridge -Indianola Beach. Down wind paddle.

Paddling the puget sound, you can expect lots of conditions. Wind changes, current flow, tide changes,.
Down wind runs can encounter all of these including 6' and up wind swells with braking white water.
Having gear to sustain the elements, knowledge of weather conditions and surround areas are essential to a good paddle. Elements of the long paddles can be demanding on physical awareness and mental ability.

Taking a small assessment of surrounding conditions.

Down wind runs have opportunities for nice long glides across the water. With a nicely placed swell, positioning of your board, paddling speed, the power of the wind at your back. All of this combined together creates  a salivating experience.
Wind on the water has this encouraging presence, howling from a far barreling down on you. Theres comfort in the power, A almost butterfly effect of being one with the task at hand. Combing the elements around you with your own physical presence and force. Delivering you emotions assigned by your journey.

Thrown off the board after bad angling and a large wind-gust ( hold composure )

Re Righting the board.
Arrival at final location Indinaola Beach.
Great waves at the indianola beach flats.

Paddle Boarding Puget Sound Bays.

Paddle Boarding and exploring in the puget sound, there are so many nooks hiding around every point. With great beautiful landscapes waiting for your gaze. Sunglasses A warm outfit something to snack on and water is always good.,,. as its always easy to cool down in the PNW. with water Temp siting in mid 42-44 deg all year.

The shallow water deep in Miller bay allows you to see fish below the surface, as you glide further into the bay the muddy bottom gurgles bubbles. Sweet calm water with still air and the warm sun relaxes your shoulders. The easy Glid slowly ending as we reach the limits of the bay.

The return Paddle Involved more concentration. The winds picked up, Bay turned to slop. The tide  followed us in, was trying to keep us there for a while longer. As we fought our way out, rounded the point it was 1-2' wind waves..  Hold on and dont stop.

Hand shaping, pu foam. Stand up paddle surfboards.

Over time I have Taken a fond view of the stand up paddle boards. I like every one els has their own reasons. Theres a greater feeling of accomplishment pulling together the extra long lines, as if shaping a whole boat from a block..I put together a small video. The video is time shifted for times sake. Some boards take longer than others. The next video post after this one will show more detail work of finishing off the blank and final shaping,..See if I can put together couple episods.

Winter, Washington (state). Some swell from the Northwest to surf.

Jumped in the truck., Drove below to the shop,.. Grabbed the combo sup., hit the road for 2 hrs...took some quick video shots.!   video below.!

Greatest drive in the world, is the drive to go play in some surf.
Every year there's more and more of us out there.. The first plan was to be able to, supply surfboards for my self and friends.
As time passes the opportunity's have arrived to,,, have a possible sale or two from my surfboards..  That is a great option to have.. I'm not sure if it is the love I have of the water.? or the waters ability to romance anybody's  mind and body to complete bliss. There has not been a more complete feeling inside of me> (when a board is sold, or just finished a ready.) Just like having a warm wave wash over you laying on a soft sandy beach.
